New Chief Executive for Opuha Water appointed

Opuha Water Ltd Chair Ryan O’Sullivan says he is pleased to announce that the irrigation cooperative has secured a new Chief Executive to lead the company.

Bjorn Triplow, currently the National Water Director for Downer NZ, will start with Opuha on 6 November 2023.

“Bjorn has extensive experience in the civil water and infrastructure industries,” O’Sullivan says. “In his current role he had involvement with irrigation schemes which proved to be a catalyst for his interest in the role at Opuha.”

O’Sullivan says Triplow has 15 years’ experience successfully leading infrastructure businesses and associated workstreams. His senior management role at Downer is responsible for business development, stakeholder engagement, financial and commercial management, and operational oversight throughout New Zealand. The role provides executive management with industry insight, strategy, governance, and guidance to ensure the company is best position in the market.

O’Sullivan says Triplow has been with Downer since July 2019. Prior to that he was with Citycare Ltd in Christchurch for 10 Years. Born in Gisborne, Triplow currently lives in Christchurch. He has committed to being based locally during the week, with a medium-term plan to move closer to Pleasant Point where Opuha’s offices are located.
